New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday issued a terror alert across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day.
In a notification issued by the Home Ministry, all the intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces have been asked to stay put on high alert to avert any possible attack by terrorists.
The MHA notice was followed by intelligence inputs that Pakistan-backed terrorist organisations might target both civilians and security forces to create terror.
Earlier today, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval undertook an aerial survey of Srinagar and South Kashmir area to take stock of the security situation as the valley celebrated Eid al-Adha amid strict restrictions that are in place after the decision to revoke provisions of Article 370.
Officials said police chief Dilbag Singh and Army commanders also undertook separate aerial visits of various parts of the Kashmir Valley.
