Srinagar: IAS officer, Shah Faesal is likely to return to serve with the government in Jammu and Kashmir after sources said his resignation has not been accepted.
Faesal resigned from government service after forming the political group - Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), but his name remained listed on the government's official website.
On Sunday he lent credence to news reports that he is likely to join back and changed his bio on his Twitter handle that described him as the founder of the JKPM.
Known as an honest and upright officer, Faesal's well-wishers had cautioned him in 2018 telling him that politics might not be his cup of tea. He topped the 2010 civil services exam and was allotted a post in his home state.
Sources said the government had recently sent feelers that it was not averse to him returning to civil service.
If he chooses to join back, Faesal would have created another record for the shortest political career in Jammu and Kashmir.
He founded the JKPM in early 2019 amid much fanfare and expectations of an alternative political platform for the youth of the region.

In June, Faesal and two PDP members, including the maternal uncle of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who were released from detention under the Public Safety Act had been "informally" told not to move out of their houses.
The three were shifted to their official residences on Wednesday but were told unofficially not to step out their homes, reports said.
