Awantipora: A major terror incident was averted after Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces detected and diffused two IEDs (Improvised Explosive Device) from Awantipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Monday.
Police said with the recovery of the two IEDs, terrorists' attempts to carry out attacks have been foiled.
The first IED was detected in Panzgam, Awantipore while the second IED was found in Saimu Tral in Awantipore. Both the IEDs were diffused by the bomb disposal squad.

The joint party of Police, Army and CRPF recovered a plastic container of approximately 50-60 Ltrs capacity containing IED material including gun powder, ammonium powder (40 to 50 Kg approx), electric detonators (20), Cordex Wire (approx 4 mtrs) and electric command wire (approx 100 mtrs).
Samples of so recovered explosive material are taken for forensic examination. Police registered case (FIR No 59/2021) at a police station in Tral.
