Pakistan violates ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora

Chinar Corps informed that Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Kanzalwan area of Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir, whilst the Indian Army gave a befitting response.

Bandipora (Jammu and Kashmir): Pakistan on Friday initiated an unprovoked ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kanzalwan area of Gurez sector in the Bandipora district here, the Chinar Corps informed.

The Chinar Corps further informed that the ceasefire violation took place in the morning by firing mortars and other weapons.
The Indian Army is giving a befitting response. More details are awaited.

Previously, Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along the LoC in the Mankote sector in Poonch district on Thursday.

Earlier on September 5, Pakistani troops engaged in firing and intense mortar shelling in three sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch.

Pakistan has been violating the bilateral ceasefire on the LoC with impunity this year.

In over 2,730 such ceasefire violations so far, 24 civilians have been killed and over 100 injured.

Dozens of houses, heads of cattle and other civilian facilities have borne the brunt of Pakistan's hostilities along the LoC in J&K.
