Srinagar: Responding to a request from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Jammu and Kashmir administration has started to collect information about the properties owned in Srinagar by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth president Waheed ur Rehman Para.
The details are being gathered on the orders of the National Investigative Agency (NIA).
Para, who was recently elected District Development Council (DDC) member from Pulwama constituency, was arrested on November 25 by the NIA. He continues to be under the NIA custody.
The NIA had written to DC Srinagar seeking information about Parra's property after which he directed the concerned officials to furnish a detailed report in the matter.
Para was arrested by the NIA in November, a few days after filing nomination papers as a People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) candidate.
The NIA had said Para was arrested in connection with the Naveed Babu-Davinder Singh case for supporting Hizbul Mujahideen in conspiracy with the other accused persons.
Notably, Para is a close aide to former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who has called the youth leader's arrest a "witch hunt" by the BJP government.
