Srinagar: Restrictions will be eased to allow people in the Kashmir Valley to offer Friday prayers in local mosques. The valley has been under heavy security cover for several days following a reported terror threat and modification of provisions of Article 370.
Curfew was relaxed for three hours in few areas of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on day three of curfew on Thursday. Curfew was relaxed for six hours in Gool and Batote whereas three hours of relaxation was granted in Doda.
The order comes amid an unprecedented security cover and several restrictions in the Valley over the past three days.
Kashmir has been on lockdown since Sunday and all communication services in the region have been blocked, including cellular network, landline, mobile internet, and broadband connectivity.
Parliament had approved a resolution abrogating special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution and a Bill for splitting the state into two Union Territories.
Meanwhile, NSA Ajit Doval was seen interacting with a few locals in the Kashmir Valley, during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the security situation.
