Kashmiri cricketer Ab Samad's father wishes he will be part of playing 11

Kashmiri cricketer Abdul Samad from Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad to play in this year's IPL being played in UAE. Samad's father, Mohammad Farooq, while talking to ETV Bharat wished for him to play in today's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore and perform well.

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir): Abdul Samad, a young cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district is playing in this year's IPL for the first time. His team, Sunrisers Hyderabad will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore today in Abu Dhabi.

Abdul Samad is the fourth player from Jammu and Kashmir to be part of the IPL. Earlier, Pervez Rasool, Manzoor Dar and Rasikh Salam have participated in the IPL.

"I hope he will play today and perform well," Abdul Samad's father, Mohammad Farooq, told ETV Bharat.

Abdul Samad was born on October 28, 2001. He started playing T-20 for Jammu and Kashmir on February 21, 2019, with the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

He started his List A career for Jammu and Kashmir in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy on September 27, 2019.

He started his first-class cricket career on December 9, 2019, with the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy for Jammu and Kashmir. He has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 2 million.
