Srinagar: After passing of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, a large number of security troops have been deployed in the valley along with an indefinite curfew.
Weddings that usually take place after Eid were postponed due to the prevailing situation.
A few wedding functions were extended to later dates due to the shortage of essentials.
Although, communication has been eased in some places people are still not able to reach and contact their loved ones living across the country.
According to reports, 95 schools including primary schools reopened in Rajouri district but many remained deserted. The high schools, higher secondary schools and degree colleges reportedly remained close in Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference, Rohit Kansal, principal secretary of Planning and Development had said that administration is planning to restore 'full functionality' of schools and government offices.
Restrictions on communication continued in most parts of the Valley barring some areas, while mobile Internet services in five of ten districts were suspended again in Jammu on Sunday, a day after being restored.
The government has said that it would ease and lift the restrictions in a phased manner in Jammu and Kashmir. No untoward incident was reported from the areas where relaxation was provided.
