Srinagar: Three school teachers, accused of being involved in a case of rape on a teenage girl in Chahchimulla village (DH Pora) of south Kashmir's Kulgam district, was suspended from the service on Monday.
"The girl has alleged that three government teachers - Hilal Ahmad Dar, Nazir Ahmad Shah and Amir Farooq forcibly took her to nearby orchards and raped her by turns, on Sunday evening," a senior police officer told ETV Bharat.
"Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR (109/2020) under section 366, 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). One of the accused has been arrested while the other two are still at large," he said adding that the girl's medical test has confirmed rape and further investigation is underway.
Taking cognizance of the crime, the School Education Department has today suspended all of them with immediate effect.
'On the basis of a written complaint submitted by the inhabitants of village Chachimulla regarding sexual harassment of a local girl, teachers (accused of being involved in a rape case) has been placed under suspension with immediate effect,' an order issued by Zonal Educational Officer, Kulgam (DH Pora), read.
