J&K: Stray dog killed in failed militant attack

At around 6:30 am, unidentified militants attacked 161 Bn CRPF's bunker with a grenade but missed the target. No loss of life or injury was reported but a stray dog was killed during the incident, officials said.

Srinagar: A stray dog was killed when suspected militants on Friday hurled a grenade on Security forces in Noorbagh area of Srinagar district, officials said.

"At around 6:30 am, unidentified militants attacked 161 Bn CRPF's bunker with a grenade but missed the target," a senior police official said adding that the grenade exploded outside the bunker.

He further said, "There was no loss of life or injury reported so far but a stray dog was killed during the incident. The dog had sustained splinter injuries."

Meanwhile, the security forces have cordoned the area and searches have been launched to nab the attackers.
