Srinagar: Senior Journalist Altaf Hussain on Sunday said that it remains to be seen which country gained the diplomatic win over the Kashmir issue after the conclusion of UNGA in New York.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday had used the forum of the UN General Assembly to openly express to the 'global Muslim sentiment' on the issue of Kashmir as he launched a frontal attack on India, and held out the threat of a conventional war spinning out of control between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
However, Altaf Hussain claimed that Muslim sentiments are not consolidated in the Kashmir issue and many communities support India's stand regarding Article 370.
"It remains to be seen how many countries Pakistan convinces, to support its stand," Hussain said.
In his speech Imran Khan devoted half of his address to the Kashmir issue, warning that if there's a face-off between two nuclear-armed neighbours, the consequences would be far beyond their borders.
Meanwhile, India on Friday had said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's threat of unleashing nuclear devastation qualifies as "brinksmanship, not statesmanship" and questioned whether " Pakistan PM can confirm the fact that it is home to 130 UN-designated terrorists and 25 terrorist entities listed by the UN, as of today."
