Srinagar: A Srinagar court has on Monday sought a report from Jammu and Kashmir police over Akali Dal leader Majinder Singh Sirsa, J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina and social media user Aman Bali for spreading lies against Kashmiris and disturbing communal harmony in the Valley.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Farooq Ahmed Bhat, in his order, asked Station House Officer (SHO) Saddar Police Station to submit a report on the matter by July 12.
"If he (SHO) fails to do so, legal action will be taken against him," the order reads.
This comes a day after a student activist Nasir Khuehami filed a petition in the court seeking registration of a case against Sirsa, Raina and Bali.
In his petition through his lawyer, Khuehami had claimed that Sirsa, Raina and Bali have tried to disturb the law and order by spreading lies in Jammu and Kashmir over the marriage of Sikh women to Muslim men.
