Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday heard a petition filed by Member Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for attaching his property and land worth around Rs 12 crore.
The Division Bench, comprising of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Vinod Chaterjee Koul, decided to reserve their interim order after listening to both the parties for around two hours.
Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra and Advocate Areeb Kawoosa were present in the court on the behalf of Dr Farooq while Advocate Tahir Shamsi represented Enforcement Directorate.
"The petitioner has only been served with a show-cause notice in which we are told April 20, 2021 is the next date fixed and fact that the order of attachment is provisional in nature which is valid for a period of 180 days only, we do not consider it to be an appropriate case to pass any interim order at this stage, " the bench said while reserving its interim order.

The bench further directed respondents to file a counter affidavit within three weeks and the petitioners can file their rejoinder within a week after the respondent's affidavit.
The court also fixed the next date of hearing of the case on May 11, 2021
During the last hearing, the court had referred the case to the Division Bench.
Earlier, during the first hearing of the case on February 5, Justice Ali Muhammad Magray had said that many people have filed petitions before the court on the same demands before.
"Therefore, a separate hearing of this case is not possible," he had said while referring the case to a single bench.
It may be recalled that in December last year, the Enforcement Directorate had seized land worth about Rs 11.86 crore from Farooq Abdullah during an investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.
