Family appeals 'missing son' to return home after he joins militants

Family of 24-year-old Saqib Manzoor Dar in Srinagar's Barzulla has appealed him to return home after he went missing and an audio statement claiming him of joining a militant group surfaced online. He went missing on August 5 and a complaint in this connection has been filed at the local police station.

Srinagar: A family from Jammu and Kashmir's Barzulla area on Sunday has appealed their missing son to return home after an audio statement surfaced on social media that the youth has joined a militant group.

On August 7, an audio statement purportedly by 24-year-old Saqib Manzoor Dar, who was pursuing graduation, went viral on social media, in which he announced to have joined the militant ranks.

Saqib, son of Manzoor Ahmad Dar from old Barzulla area of Srinagar, went missing on August 5 following which a missing report was lodged at Saddar police station.

However, a hunt is on to locate the missing youth.
