Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Saturday said that the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the name of restoration of Article 370.
"The Gupkar gang was formed to serve their interests and not for the welfare of the people," Hussain said in an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat.
He said that NC and PDP have politicized Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir for years and now these parties are lying to the people claiming to restore it. Our party will never allow their plans to be fulfilled. Article 370 has been completely buried and as such restoration is impossible."
"They are misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir and at the same time are seeking help from China," he said.

On DDC elections, he said: "The elections are being held for the first time and these are for the development and welfare of the people. These parties believe in dynasty and have paved the way for their children to become Chief Ministers or Ministers. The youth of Jammu and Kashmir has never been given a chance."
While appealing to people to vote for BJP, he said, "The Gupkar gang has been sidelined by the people. I hope they will give us a chance and vote for us. There will be a lot of development. What the Gupkar gang didn't do we will do in the next five years."
Earlier, BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi arrived in Jammu and Kashmir for the campaign. The BJP has deployed Mr. Naqvi in Kashmir and Mr. Thakur in Jammu for the DDC polls, starting November 28.
