Jammu: One militant was killed and a policeman was injured in an ongoing encounter in a remote area of Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, said police on Monday.
"One militant has been killed and one cop sustained bullet injuries in an ongoing encounter", ADGP Jammu Mukesh Kumar said. A clash broke out between security forces and militants in the capital district of Jammu province on Monday, they said. The injured policeman was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the police, the security forces received information about the presence of two militants in the Chasana area of Reasi following which the search operation was launched this afternoon, he said. Singh said the exchange of fire was underway when last reports were received and efforts are on to neutralise the two terrorists.
