Earthquakes jolt Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir

Two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 and 3.1 on Richter scale struck Jammu and Kashmir's Katra and Maharashtra's Palghar respectively on Friday. No damage or injures have been reported.

Jammu/Palghar: An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 on the Richter struck 89km East of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir at 5:11 am on Friday, National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.

Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 struck Maharashtra's Palghar at 12:26 am on Friday.

However, no damage or injures have been reported.

Earlier on July 20, an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Maharashtra's Satara.

Also, earlier this month, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred near Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir.
