Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): A final call is expected to be taken on this year's Amarnath Yatra, as the Jammu and Kashmir administration is expected to hold a meeting on Tuesday.
The administration is expected to hold a meeting today, in which Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) CEO Bipul Pathak and other top police officials are expected to participate.
Though SASB has taken a decision to commence the yatra, there has been no official confirmation about the same, reportedly due to some differences within the administration.
However, J&K Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal said that the decision on the yatra will only be taken at the board's meeting.
According to sources, SASB is planning to undertake the yatra in the last week of July and and will end it on Rakshabandhan on August 3.
Sources added that the board has fixed an age limit of 55 for pilgrims, who will also be required to carry a COVID-19 negative certificate.
The 42-day yatra was scheduled to commence from the twin tracks of Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal on June 23 but was delayed due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
