The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) has condemned the attack on BJP leader Wasim Bari in which his father and brother were killed, calling the incident as "shameful" and "mindless".
"The party expressed anguish over this highly deplorable incident and demanded exemplary punishment to killers. JKPCC conveyed deepest condolences to family of BJP leader and expressed solidarity with them," a press release by the Congress said.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina on Wednesday said that the killings of BJP leader Wasim Bari and his family members will be avenged by smoking out terrorists from their hideouts and eliminating them.
He left for Kashmir to meet Bari's family and be with them in their hour of grief.
"I am on my way to Kashmir to be with the family and express my condolences to them. He (Bari) was a real tiger of Bharat Mata. He kept the tricolour high. We condemn this cowardly act of Pakistan-sponsored terrorists", Raina told reporters tonight.
He said they were true nationalists, who broadened the party's base in Kashmir which frustrated Pakistan and Pak-sponsored terrorists in the valley.
Raina said that the terrorists, who are hiding in various places, will be chased out from their rat-holes and eliminated to avenge the killings.
He said the killings are a result of the frustration of Pakistan and Pak-sponsored terrorists due to growing footprints of BJP in Kashmir valley.
"Pakistan and its terrorists cannot deter us. They want to demoralise us. That is not going to happen. All of those terrorists involved in the killing will be eliminated."

The Jammu and Kashmir authorities to detain 10 policemen including eight personal security officers attached with the BJP leader Wasim Bari who, along with his father and brother was shot dead by terrorists in the heart of Bandipore town of North Kashmir on Wednesday night for 'negligence' under the Police Act.
The Police said that 10 policemen were deployed for his security but none was kept along by him at the time of the incident. A case has been registered in this regard.

Reacting on the brutal killing, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ram Madhav condoled the militant attack and distrusted the killing as the BJP leader was secured with eight commandos. Unidentified Militants kill J-K's BJP leader Wasim Bari, his father and brother outside his shop
Srinagar: A BJP leader, his father and brother were shot dead by militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district Wednesday night, DGP Dilbagh Singh.
Militants opened fire on Wasim Ahmad Bari, BJP district president, outside his shop near police station Bandipora at around 9 pm, he said.
Singh said Bari's brother Umar and father Bashir Ahmad were injured in the firing.
They were taken to the Bandipora district hospital where they succumbed to injuries, he said.
Senior police officials of the district have reached the spot, a police official said, adding further details are awaited.
