Addressing the party workers in the rally, Vibodh Gupta, party's General Secretary and J-K affairs in-charge, said that Sopore was known as mini-London, but militancy and separatism blocked all means of development in this area over the past 70 years.

He further said, "We promise that if a BJP candidate is elected then we will set up an international mandi in Sopore which will be the backbone for fruit growers of the area. The party is also planning to set up cold storage facilities in the fruit mandi so that they can sell their crop anytime."

He said that the Prime Minister has a strong vision for Jammu and Kashmir and the party will leave no stone unturned to bring it to the reality.

Gupta also slammed National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)saying that these parties don't want grassroots development in Jammu and Kashmir.
