Srinagar: A woman was crushed to death by an army vehicle on the Bandipora - Srinagar road at Nadihal area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Wednesday.
According to officials, the woman was killed after she was hit by an army vehicle while crossing the road in Nadihal, today afternoon. The body of the woman has been shifted to hospital for legal formalities and postmortem.
A police team from the concerned police station also reached the spot.
Shortly after the incident locals assembled on the road and expressed their resentment over the incident and demanded action against the driver.

Meanwhile, Bandipora Police has taken cognizance of the incident and registered an FIR in this regard. Police have also seized the army vehicle and further investigation is on.
The Bandipora Police in a statement said, "Today an accident took place at Nadihal Bandipora, in which an aged woman was hit by an Army Vehicle and she died on the spot. The body of the woman was shifted to Hospital for completion of medico-legal formalities. In this regard Case/FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered and the vehicle has also been seized. Further investigation of the case is going on."
