Srinagar: An army soldier was killed on Monday in a suspected fratricide incident in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials said.
"The slain soldier was part of a Road Opening Party (ROP) of Army's 28 Rashtriya Rifles Lassipora in Sogam village," a senior police official said.
He further said, "From initial investigations, it appears to be a fratricide incident. Reports suggest that there was a brawl between soldiers and one jawan opened fire on his colleagues. Investigations are underway."
