JK: Army jawan allegedly shoots himself dead with his rifle in Ramban

An Army jawan has allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle inside a camp in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. The jawan has been identified as Sepoy Hanuman Choudhary. J&K Police is conducting further investigations.

Ramban: An Army jawan has allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle inside a camp in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Sunday. The jawan has been identified as Sepoy Hanuman Choudhary.

As per police, Sepoy Hanuman Choudhary shot himself dead at his camp in the Ukhral area around midnight. The jawan was on sentry duty and posted at 12 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) camp in Ukhral.

The motive behind such an extreme step is not known as of now. The body of the deceased soldier has been sent to a local hospital for postmortem. The police have also launched an official investigation into the matter.
