Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police along with 53 Rashtriya Rifles arrested two militant associates linked with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Budgam on Wednesday. They also recovered incriminating materials and live ammunition from their possession.
"Incriminating material including posters of proscribed terror outfit LeT and live ammunition of 30 rounds of AK 47 and 07 rounds of Chinese pistol were recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorist associates," police said. The arrests were made while the joint party was checking posts near the Mohanpora railway bridge.

The militant associates have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Shaksaz from Kralnar Kalshipora and Mursaleen Maqbool Bhat from Shamsabad Budgam. Preliminary investigation revealed that they were providing shelter, logistics and other material support including transportation of arms and ammunition to the members of proscribed outfit LeT in various areas of Budgam.

According to police, the arrested militant associates were in touch with the Pakistan-based terror commanders through various social media platforms and were also in contact with Lashkar-e-Taiba self-styled militant commanders in Kashmir.
