Sonia, Priyanka to monitor Karnataka poll results from Shimla today

Congress former president Sonia Gandhi will monitor Karnataka polls results from Priyanka Gandhi's house in Shimla. Priyanka will keep an eye on the poll results from Shimla. Rahul Gandhi will also reach Shimla in a day or two, sources said.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) : Former National President of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, has reached Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, on her personal visit. Sonia Gandhi reached Chandigarh by first flight and from there she along with Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu reached Kalyani helipad in Shimla by helicopter.

Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had also reached Shimla on the previous day. It is being told that after a hectic campaign in the Karnataka elections, Sonia Gandhi reached here on Friday to get rid of fatigue. She came to Chandigarh from Delhi by flight. CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was also present there in connection with a program in Mohali.

After this, in the Chief Minister's helicopter, she reached Chharabra's Kalyani helipad. CM Sukhu welcomed Sonia Gandhi there. Later, Sonia Gandhi went to her daughter Priyanka Gandhi's house in Chharabra. This is being told as a personal visit of Sonia Gandhi. During this, she will not meet anyone. Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will keep an eye on the results of the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections from Shimla on Saturday.

Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will stay in Shimla for the next few days. It is believed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may also come to Shimla. Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Shimla in a day or two. In the Karnataka election campaign, Sonia Gandhi took part in election meetings and sought public support for the Congress candidates.

Sonia Gandhi's statement on the 'sovereignty' of Karnataka became cannon fodder for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who even complained to the Election Commission of India to take action against her. Even Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of making secessionist remarks on a state that is an integral part of the country.
