Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh): A PWD staff hailing from the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh is well-versed with the knowledge of treating ortho diseases. Vidya Dutt is posted as a clerk in the Public Works Department at Nahan, the Sirmaur district headquarters.
Vidya does not have a medical degree, still, the local people believe that he can treat any kind of ortho disease. Vidya has been doing this public service for almost 32 years. The public works department fully cooperates with him in his endeavor.
The department has even allotted him a room, so that he may do this good work peacefully. People from not only Himachal but from the nearby states also turn up for treatment in big numbers. Almost 150 to 200 are treated every day.
Madhavi, an athlete, says, "A few days ago I had injured my leg. Doctors had asked me take bed rest for a week, but even after seven days I did not sense any relief. Now, I have come to Vidya Dutt for treatment. I hope that my injury will be cured soon to allow me play again."

In a conversation with ETV Bharat, Vidya Dutt said, "I had inherited this skill from my father. After the death of my father, I started serving the people. A long as there is courage and strength in me, I will continue to serve people selflessly like this."
Expressing gratitude towards PWD, Vidya Dutt said that the officers of the department have given full cooperation in this work of serving people. Due to which he is able to treat patients for five to six hours a day.
Till now thousands of people have got relief from their pain.
