Night curfew imposed in 4 districts of Himachal, school closed till 31 December

Amid an increase in coronavirus cases in the state, the Himachal govt has imposed night curfew in Shimla, Kangra, Mandi and Kullu districts. The govt has also ordered the closure of schools till 31 December. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting.

Shimla: In a cabinet meeting held on Monday, the administration took many major decisions amidst the ever-increasing cases of coronavirus in the state. The administration has decided to impose night curfew in Shimla, Kangra, Mandi and Kullu districts from 24 November to 15 December. This curfew will remain from 8 pm to 6 am. The state govt has also decided to impose a fine of Rs 1000 for not wearing masks in public places.

All schools and colleges will remain closed till 31 December, while online classes will start in schools from 26 November. Teachers have been ordered to work from home until the next order. The offices of High School, Senior Secondary School and Colleges will open from 26 November. Principal will be able to call faculty members as and when required.

It has further been decided that by December 31, only 50 percent of the third and fourth class employees will come in government offices and employees will come to the office 3-3 days a week.

The state govt has also banned all of it's public programmes and all major political rallies. Only 200 people are allowed to participate in all types of social, political, cultural and sports events with social distancing.

The govt has estimated that by December 15, all buses in the state will run with 50 percent capacity.

Elections of newly formed municipal corporations Solan, Mandi, Palampura will be held in March-April 2021 along with Dharamshala Municipal Corporation. These elections were first scheduled in January 2021.

The pace ​​of corona in Himachal

Actually, in November, the pace with which Corona has spread in Himachal is frightening. In the first 22 days of November, a total of 12,268 new cases of corona have been reported, while 216 people have died during this period. In Himachal, till the night of 22 November, the total number of cases was 34,327 while 528 people had died.

The speed of corona in Himachal can be gauged from the fact that 35 percent of the total corona cases have been reported here in the month of November alone. While about 41 percent of the total deaths due to corona occurred in November only.
