Modi government is committed to people of this country and fulfilling all its promises: Thakur

"We stood for the rights of Muslim women and passed the triple talaq bill in the Parliament even though we did not have a majority in the upper house. This shows our commitment towards sensitive issues of the country," said Thakur.

He also slammed opposition's outcry on the modification of Article 370 and termed Rahul Gandhi's rhetoric on this matter as "childish".

"Article 370 ruined Jammu and Kashmir. More than 40,000 people including many soldiers have lost their lives in the Valley. But the Congress party is making hue and cry on this also and Pakistan is benefiting from its childish rhetoric. Let me tell you that a new era has begun and next summer Kashmir will bear fruits of this decision," said Thakur.

Thakur also gave his opinion on the efforts of the Central government to address the impact of economic slowdown in the country. He said that the merger of banks will make the banks more efficient and this will help in boosting the economy.

He also spoke openly on his vision for the state of Himachal Pradesh and promised to extend all possible help to reimburse the loss incurred by the state due to floods.
