Kullu: Hundreds of people staged a protest against Himachal Pradesh's agriculture minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda on Tuesday at the main entrance of Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti district. The protesters alleged that the minister can not enter into Kaza without being quarantined.
According to reports, the Minister had come to hear the problems of the workers in Kaza. But when Markanda reached near the entrance gate, hundreds of people along with district Mahila Mandal workers started opposing the minister's entry and due to this, the Agriculture Minister returned without entering his office in Kaza.
Meanwhile, a video of this protest has also gone viral on social media. According to the viral video, the woman protesters are seen opposing the minister to enter into the village.
Speaking to media persons, the protesters said, "Minister, Markanda has come from outside and he should also follow the rules of quarantine before entering to Kaza."
Earlier, a group of people in Kaza did not allow the passengers, who came from Kannur in a bus and the bus was sent back. However, the minister, Markanda returned without holding the meeting with the workers of Kaza, reports added.
