Preparations gather pace for Atal Tunnel inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Atal Tunnel on October 3. Preparations are in full swing for the PM's visit. In view of the program, tight security arrangements have also been made.

Manali: Preparations are on in full swing for the inauguration of the Atal Tunnel Rohtang, which is scheduled to be held on the 3rd of October. PM Modi will also address a public meeting in Solang Nala of the tourism city of Manali. Preparations are going on in full spirit for this public meeting. It is worth noting that besides PM Modi, many ministers and leaders will participate in this program to be held on the 3rd of October, along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur, State Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. In view of the program, strong security arrangements have also been made.

Strict security everywhere

The SPG has already camped in Solang Nala and adjoining areas regarding the program on 3rd October. This entire area is divided into 15 sectors. In which 900 soldiers of Himachal Police will also be posted at every place. The SPG took stock of the preparations going on in Solang Nala and also held a meeting with the administrative officials. During this, SPG officials also reached Rohtang Tunnel and inspected the public meeting place in Lahaul.

Before the inauguration program of the Atal Tunnel, the Kullu Police has also sealed the boundaries of the district and started checking on vehicles coming from outside states amid tight security. The movement of vehicles for Rohtang will also be stopped from September 30th by the administration. However, during this time, army vehicles, trucks of important goods and corporation buses will run as regular.

Protocol to follow COVID-19 rules

Atal Tunnel Rohtang is being inaugurated amidst the growing infection of Corona, in such a situation, precaution is very important along with the safety of the program. Govind Thakur, cabinet minister of Himachal government, also held a meeting with administrative officials regarding the preparations for the program. Govind Thakur said that in view of the Corona period, limited guests have been invited for the program and all the rules related to Covid-19 will have to be strictly followed during the event.
