HP family forced to share room with cattles; awaits PMAY benefits

Bhori Singh and his wife Basanti, who have been awaiting to avail benefits under PMAY, have no other option but to share their single-room mud house with their cattles in Himachal Pradesh's Churah constituency. Bhuri Singh's house is in a dilapidated condition and is on the verge of collapse.

Chamba: A six-member family in Himachal Pradesh's Churah constituency are having to share their single-room house with their cattles, as they await to avail Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) benefits.

Bhori Singh and his wife Basanti are labourers and they fall under BPL category, but despite several attempts over the past four years, they are yet to receive benefits under this housing scheme.

Singh's house is in a dilapidated condition and is on the verge of collapse.

Chamba DC, Vivek Bhatia said, "The matter has come to our notice. Reports have been sought from authorities concerned."
