Central govt to set up Winter Sports Centre in Himachal Pradesh

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiran Rijiju said the central government will set up a Winter Sports Centre in Himachal Pradesh.

Chamba (Himachal): Addressing a gathering as part of 'Chalo Chamba Campaign', Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiran Rijiju said the central government will set up a Winter Sports Centre in Himachal Pradesh.

The Winter Sports Centre will be set up at a cost of Rs. 50 crore, he said.

Rijiju also announced that a National Sports Academy will be established in Chamba, Dalhousie and Dharamshala. He added that open gyms will be set up in Bhatiyat, Bharmour and in Dalhousie.

Earlier, he flagged off a motor rally which had been organised as part of the campaign which concluded on Sunday.

The Union Minister also presented prizes to the winner and runner-up Rider of the 'Chamba Car Rally.'
