Hisar: A man hacked his estranged pregnant wife to death after she eloped and settled down with her lover in Hisar, police sources said. The entire episode has been captured in a CCTV camera. The accused husband has been arrested.
The incident took place at a primary health centre in Langhari village in Haryana's Hisar on Wednesday. The CCTV footage showed that the man struck the victim 10 times within 12 seconds. The seriously injured woman died on the spot.
According to the police, the 29-year-old victim, named Rajbala was married to the accused, Roshanlal. She had got into an extra-marital affair with her neighbour, Ashok. Rajbala had eloped with Ashok few months back and was in a live-in relationship with him. After she conceived, the two returned to Langhari village and have been staying here for the last one month, police said. She used to visit the primary heath centre for checkup from time to time.
Police said that when the woman's husband saw her in the village he decided to take revenge on her and started following her. On Wednesday, she visited the health centre for routine checkup. Her husband, who had followed her, hid outside the centre. When she was about the leave, the accused ran towards her with an axe and started striking her repeatedly. Her finger was also chopped off in the attack.
A woman, who had accompanied Rajbala to the health centre called for help but Roshanlal pushed her away while continuing the attack. A few others had rushed to save Rajbala but she had already succumbed to her injuries by then. The entire incident has been captured in a CCTV camera installed at the health centre.

Agroha police station in-charge Pratap Singh said after receiving information about the murder, they reached the spot. The postmortem has been done and the body has been handed over to the relatives, he said. The accused has been arrested and will be produced in court, police said.
