Farmers ransack venue before Haryana CM's visit

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was scheduled to visit Padha village in Karnal district where farmers ransacked tents and damaged a helipad to oppose his visit.

Karnal: Farmers in Haryana's Karnal on Monday night created a ruckus before the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's visit in order to show solidarity with the protesting farmers in New Delhi.

Khattar was scheduled to visit Padha village of Assandh in Karnal for which tents were installed and a helipad was also made. However, before the CM's arrival, farmers ransacked the venue to oppose the visit.

The agitators took off tents, broke chairs and sofas and even damaged the newly constructed helipad.

Burning the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they said in view of the ongoing protests, the chief minister should not hold any program anywhere.

The villagers also added that until the end of the protest, they won't allow any government official or politician to visit their village.

Today Bharat Bandh has been called on behalf of the farmers protest against the farm laws that is also being supported by many organizations and political parties across the country.
