Gurugram (Haryana): Amid the surge in cases of Covid-19 in Gurugram, a vaccination camp for transgenders and sex workers was held in the Dundahera area.
As many as 200 people were inoculated in the free-of-cost vaccination camp that has been set up by the district administration. Gurugram Civil Surgeon Virender Yadav inaugurated this camp.

"They are in high risk category so they need to get vaccinated,” Dr. Yadav said. He added that today’s target for vaccinating was 200 but they will try to vaccinate all. Transgenders, MSM and CSW were also educated about COVID-19 and its vaccination.

Lauding this effort of District administration, a transgender said, "Nothing had been done for us in the first lockdown period. No special help was given, but now after this special vaccination camp, we feel safe as others. Our transgender society was cut off from the mainstream during the Covid induced lockdown."
