New Delhi: Newly appointed Haryana Congress in-charge Vivek Bansal on Saturday said that the party was currently the opposition in the state, and it was the duty of the opposition to hit the streets.

Bansal said that the priority of the Haryana Congress will now be to highlight the failures of the present government, and also inform the people what the party could do as an alternative.

The congress organisation has to be strengthened right from the block level, and those ready for a struggle must be brought to the forefront, he added.

On the internal groupism within the Congress however, Bansal said that strong parties are those which are vibrant, and have groupism.

He added that it should be ensured that the groupism does not harm the party.

In a major oganisational reshuffle earlier yesterday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi dropped some senior leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mallikarjun Kharge as AICC general secretaries, and reconstituted the CWC.

Vivek Bansal was made a permanent invitee to the CWC along with senior leaders like Digvijaya Singh, Jairam Ramesh, and Salman Khurshid among others.

Further, Bansal was also made the in-charge for Haryana.
