Missing AN-32 aircraft crashes, pilot killed

New Delhi: Pilot Ashish Tanwar from Haryana's Palwal lost his life after the Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft AN-32 crashed with 13 members on board on May 12 from Jorhat in Assam near the China border. 

The deceased's relative informed that the location of the plane had been identified. 

The 29-year old pilot joined his duty in Jorhat after spending a vacation in Palwal.

A total of eight aircrews and five passengers were on board.

The AN-32 is a Russian origin aircraft and the IAF currently operates a sizeable number of it. It is a twin-engine turboprop transport aircraft.
