New Delhi: Jannayak Janata Party founder Dushyant Chautala on Friday said that his party's alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party will bring about a change in Haryana.

Chautala said the BJP was spreading communal hatred in Haryana

Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Chautala said, "Jhadoo and Chappal together will act against those who looted Haryana and tried to bring about communal division and hatred in the state."

While 'jhadoo' (broom) is the election symbol of the AAP, 'chappal' (slipper) is the symbol of the JJP.

The JJP will contest seven Lok Sabha seats while AAP will contest three seats in Haryana. Polling in the state will be held on May 12.

Talking about the significance of the Aam Aadmi Party in the alliance, Chautala brushed aside any reservations about the limited reach of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party in the state.

"In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the AAP got around 4.5 per cent of the votes in the state. INLD on the other hand, got 25 per cent. After the Jind bypoll, we know that most of the INLD cadres are with us now. So this gives us an additional 30 per cent votes," he said.

The JJP was formed in December last year following a split in the family of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, who heads the Indian National Lok Dal.

Many INLD leaders are now part of the JJP.
