Mahendragarh: In a horrifying incident, an aged lady who was reportedly part of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj was recorded getting tortured by her daughter-in-law in a village falling under Haryana's Mahendragarh district.
In the video, the purported daughter-in-law can be seen manhandling the frail and aged woman while she was lying on a cot in a courtyard.
Soon after the clip made its way online, police took cognizance of the matter and registered a case against the daughter-in-law, while promising strict action. The old lady was taken for a medical examination by cops.
"We are taking her for medical examination after that we'll take her wherever she wants to go," a police official said.
The son of the lady was an employee of the Haryana state police.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar later personally intervened in the matter and called it a deplorable act. He also informed that the accused in the matter has now been arrested.
