Haryana: Ten people, including eight youths returning after appearing for an Army recruitment exam, were killed in a road accident in Jind's Ramrai village, while one other was injured.
Late on Tuesday night, they were returning from Hisar in an auto when a speeding oil tanker hit them.
All the ten died on spot, including the driver of the auto.
According to sources, the eight youngsters had passed their physical and medical tests in the Army recruitment exam and were returning back home when the accident took place.
The deceased have been identified as Robin, Mangal, Sanjay, Premjeet, Sanjay, Bharat, Sumit and Deepak.
"The accident took place at around 10.30 pm. The youths were returning home when an oil tanker from behind trampled the auto they were travelling in and fled away," the police said.
"Apart from the deceased, one person was seriously injured. He has been referred to PJI," they added.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
