New Delhi: Congress campaigner and DesignBoxed CEO Naresh Arora on Friday said that renewed focus on regional issues, concentrated efforts in campaign and management helped the party make electoral gains in Haryana elections.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Chandigarh-based Arora said that regional leaders worked in tandem to implement the strategies on the ground.
"People believed in Congress schemes and hence the party scored 31 seats in the elections," Arora said.
Indian National Congress (INC) had picked three agencies to handle its digital marketing and social media campaigns. The Congress publicity committee had selected the lesser-known DesignBoxed.
Speaking on the strategy used by the Congress, Arora said that local issues like crime, employment and agrarian distress found resonance with the voters rather than national issues like Kashmir, Pakistan put forward by the BJP.
"Congress tried to raise regional issues and offered solutions to the same. The messaging reached grassroots level and the voters felt the INC offered a genuine solution," Arora said.
For the state's main opposition party Congress, hit by infighting that required a change in the state leadership ahead of the October 21 elections, the results gave it a shot at power if the JJP and some Independents extend support, as it secured 31 seats.
