Kisan Morcha gives ultimatum to Haryana govt in Karnal, seek action against SDM

The farmers' strike in Karnal continues for the fourth day. Neither the government is agreeing to farmers' demands nor, the farmers are budging from their stance. The agitating farmers have given an ultimatum to the administration till September 11. Farmer leaders also said that if their demands are not met, they will decide in Saturday's meeting.

Karnal (Haryana): The farmers' strike in Karnal continues for the fourth day. Neither the government is agreeing to farmers' demands nor, the farmers are budging from their stance. In such a situation, the Haryana Police and CRPF personnel are doing their duty promptly. However, after three days, the administration has restored internet services in the Karnal district.

On the fourth day, the farmers continue their agitation outside the Karnal Mini Secretariat and the scenario is akin to Delhi's Singh Border. Some farmers were singing the national anthem, while others were showing their dancing skills. The agitating farmers have given an ultimatum to the administration till September 11. Farmer leaders also said that if their demands are not met, they will decide in Saturday's meeting.

On September 11 (Saturday), a meeting of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) will be held in Karnal. A key decision could be taken to intensify the ongoing movement. Samyukta Kisan Morcha leader, Suresh Kauth, who was present at the protest site, said that the administration has been lenient on many points, but no clear decision was taken on the demands. The government will have to take strict action against the officers and police personnel involved in the lathi-charge in Karnal. Even if the government does not pay compensation to the dependents of the deceased farmer, then the farmers union will do the needful. The farmers present in the dharna said that the Haryana government must decide about taking action against SDM Ayush Sinha right away.
