Faridabad (Haryana): An elderly woman alleged that she had been locked inside her Faridabad home for the past several days by her daughter-in-law as she wanted to take possession of the property.
Earlier in April, Madanlal Tanwar and his wife had come to Sector 8 in Faridabad to stay. They built the house with their life savings.
However, the couple claim that the woman had been locked inside the house on August 16, and has since then not been let out.
"My daughter-in-law has locked me in. I struggle to cook for myself. The police came, but they did nothing," the woman said.
The woman said that her daughter-in-law had threatened both her and her husband, and wanted them to leave the house so that she could take over the possession.
"I complained to the local police station, the ACP, even the Chief Minister and SDM. But nobody is listening to my woes," the trapped woman's husband Madanlal Tanwar said.

Tanwar said that his son and daughter-in-law had not been living together for the past several months.
He alleged that his daughter-in-law, who works at a private bank, had locked his wife in as she wanted to pressurise the couple to leave the house.
