Sonipat: Amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari violated the lockdown and social distancing norms as he reached Sonipat in Haryana to play cricket on Monday.

Tiwari was seen playing cricket at Sheikhpura Unique Cricket Stadium without wearing a mask which has been made mandatory by the government.

This came at a time when the Haryana government has sealed its border with Delhi citing an increase in the number of COVID cases due to people coming from Delhi into the state.

Speaking on this, SDM Ravindra Patil said that he will look into the matter as he had no information about the match.

It is to be noted that India is currently in the fourth phase of coronavirus-induced lockdown. While the Centre has given some relaxations, wearing a mask in public places has been made mandatory.
