Karnal(Haryana): Family members of the Covid-19 patients are allegedly facing harassment like social exclusion by their neighbours in Haryana's Karnal city.
According to sources, one, Charanjit, returned from Maharashtra recently and for which he was quarantined.
Following which the samples of four of his family members were also taken. Though their tests came out negative, they were advised to be in-home quarantine. The family alleged that some neighbours were pressuring them to leave the locality, stating that they would spread the virus.
The family of the victim said, "The milkman has stopped bringing milk to our house. When he came to know that we have been quarantined, Since then, he refused to supply milk to our family. The people around us have also warned the milkman that if he will give milk to our family, then the others would not take milk from him."
The government has also made an announcement in the locality urging people not to harass anybody as anyone could catch the infection for no fault of theirs.
But there is still confusion among people about the coronavirus. Because of which quarantined families are facing a situation like social exclusion.
However, some people in the locality alleged that the family members of the coronavirus patient were not following the quarantine norms and were coming out from their house repeatedly, sources said.
