Panchkula: A team of the District Task Force is continuously working on the war footing as per the instructions of the Government of India and the Ministry of Animal Husbandry to curb the spread of bird flu.
In order to prevent the spread in other poultry farms, the Animal Husbandry and Health Department team is fully equipped with related medicines and is spraying them to protect poultry.
About 40 rapid action teams are doing bird culling.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja said that the situation regarding bird flu in the district is under control. The periphery of 1 km of both poultry farms has been declared an infected zone and one to ten km periphery as a surveillance zone. The killing of birds in Siddharth Poultry and Nature Poultry has been completed and about 20 thousand birds have been terminated.

He added that now four teams will do the cleaning work in both the farms.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the killing work has started in Narendra Poultry and appropriate measures are being taken to ensure that the infection does not spread further. To protect these teams from any kind of infection, they are being administered Tamiflu medicines and are under continuous supervision in four schools of Raipurrani.
