Surat (Gujarat): Toxic white powder MD drugs were being sold on a large scale in Surat to ruin the youth of the city, but since Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar took charge, a hard drive has been launched to eradicate the drug trade from Surat city. In just 48 hours, the Surat Crime Branch seized drugs and marijuana worth Rs 1.89 crore from 4 different places during this special drive and arrested the accused.
Details of drugs seized from Surat
Case 1
Salman Zaveri has been arrested with 1011.82 grams of MD drugs from the Dumas area. Salman lives in Rander. MD drugs worth Rs 1.01 crore have been seized from the car. Accused Salman has already been arrested in 2019 for burglary.
Case 2
In another case, 304.98 grams of MD drugs were found in shop 107, 108 in Sayona Plaza Complex in the border area. Which is priced at Rs 30,49,800. Shailesh Asalalia, the accused in the case, has been arrested. The accused hint was in contact with accused Salman and is a textile trader. MD drugs were found in his clothing store.

Case 3
In the third case, Vinay Usha Bunty was arrested for passing 17.5 grams of drugs in his vehicle in Varachha area. The value of MD drugs seized from Vinay is Rs 1.75 lakh. Vinay has confessed to the crime branch that the drug was brought from Mumbai.
Case 4
In the fourth case, 564.510 kg of marijuana was found in the cabin of a truck passing through Punagam area. The case involves 3 accused. The cannabis was brought from Odisha, priced at Rs 56 lakh. A total of Rs 1,89,88,100 worth of narcotics has been seized in the four cases. A total of Rs 2,078,7370 has been seized.
In this whole matter, Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar said that Surat has to be developed as a 'No Drugs City'. Its special campaign has been launched by Surat Police. These cases have been reported to the NCB in view of the way the Narcotics Bureau is currently investigating in Mumbai as the drug connection is from Mumbai. So far, 12 cases involving drugs have been registered. Currently, an accused named Adil is wanted.
