Bhavnagar DSP Ramesh Dakhra's son dies under suspicious circumstances in Canada

Ayush Dakhra's room partner informed his father that he was missing for over a day. Ayush's father asked him to file a police complaint and the the Canadian police found his body near a waterbody next day.

Bhavnagar: Ayush Dakhra, 23, son of Ramesh Dakhra, DSP with Gujarat Police, has died under suspicious circumstances in Canada. Bhavnagar native, Ayush, was found dead by the Canadian Police after he went missing nearly two days back.

Ayush, a resident of Sidsar village in Bhavnagar city, was studying at an institute in Canada for the last four and a half years. Following Ayush's death, a pall of gloom as descended on the Dakhra family. His body has been brought back from Canada to his hometown and his funeral procession is scheduled to be taken out in Bhavnagar today.

His father, Ramesh Dakhra is currently posted in Palanpur and had earlier served in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ayush is Dakhra's elder son while his younger brother is studying in Gandhinagar.

On May 6, Ayush's father got a call from his room partner informing him that he was missing for over a day. Dakhra asked Ayush's friend to file a missing complaint immediately. The Canadian police found a dead body near the waterbody and Ayush's friend identified him.

Nareshbhai Dakhra, Ayush's uncle said that after clearing his class XII exams from a school in Gandhinagar, Ayush left his hometown to pursue a course in a university in Canada. There, he stayed in a shared apartment and his room partner informed the family about the incident, he said.

Ayush's friends told the family that the Canadian police is currently investigating the case. CCTV footage is being assessed to understand Aayush's movements. They said that the police were yet to determine the actual cause of death, Ayush's uncle said.

On April 16, another student from Ahmedabad who was studying in Toronto was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
