Gujarat: Security has been beefed up in and around Sardar Patel Stadium also known as Motera staduim, in view of the forthcoming visit of US President Donald Trump on February 24.
The stadium as been transformed into a camp manned by police personnel. The entire area has swarmed up with uniformed men from across Gujarat. Over 10,000 policemen have been summoned from different districts of the state to be deployed at the stadium for the US President's visit.
Top officials from the police force, including the Director General of Police, inspectors and DIGs earlier held a meeting at Motera to review the security arrangements for the awaited visit. Commandos from the Special Protection Group (SPG) also inspected the stadium.
Officials of every rank deployed at the stadium have been issued ID cards necessary for movement in and around the area.
Apart from the security arrangements, a 25-bed hospital has also been set up inside the stadium premises so that any emergency, if arises, could be attended to.
In addition to the hospital, as many as 50 ambulance vans and 20 teams of medical and paramedical staff have been pressed into service.
Thousands of people will be attending the opening event of world's largest stadium ,to be inaugurated by Donald Trump. The event has been named as 'Namaste Trump'.
