NDRF rescues 45 people stranded in flood-affected areas in Rajkot

Rajkot: The National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) team rescued 45 people who were stranded in Padadar village of Junagadh district of Gujarat following heavy rainfall.  

Meanwhile, 32 people were evacuated from Gondal temple to safer places after were trapped in the area following heavy rain.

The Wanakbori Dam in Mahisagar has started overflowing due to incessant rainfall in the region.  

There is an average rainfall of 22 mm in Ghodapur district in last 24 hours, IMD officials said.  

Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Rajkot while many areas were flooded after Aji river started overflowing.  

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted 'generally cloudy sky' with 'moderate rain' for the next two days.
